When ever I download a .zip file from the web I drop it on my Stuffit expander 5.5 and it turns the file into a .ttf - when I drop it into my system fonts folder it does not work. The problem is that although I am asking to print all code points from 0-0xff, the output is not as expected. The first 0-0x7f code points are printed in their proper raster, then between code points 0x80 - 0xa0 most of those rasters (but not all) are replaced by the raster which is saved as code point 0xff, then from 0xao - 0xff the code points are printed again with their correct raster.
What could be the problem?

I'm using the nvidia accelerated xserver in redhat linux 6.1. my friend is using redhat 6.1's xfs and has the exact same problem.
we each ran ttmkfdir. he put his trutype font directory in the xfs font path, I put my true type font directory in my X server's font path.
all the fonts can be seen in xfontsel and gfontsel and the spacing is fine there.

We are a very small Real Estate company. One of the person's kids who is here played in the computer and deleted some of the fonts. Nothing happened until we downloaded our ZIPPED FORMS PROGRAM FROM our State Real Estate Board. I showed them what kind of hyroglifics, (looks like a bunch of shapes, and not letters at all) has moved in and our forms are not usable. They explained that we had missing fonts, and need to install the missing fonts. However, I am pretty computer illeterate, and I have no idea of how to find the fonts, or how install them. We use True Type, is all I know.
I do not know how to fix this problem. Can you help me? you can e-mail me to ask me questions. Please any help you can give me will be very appreciated. We are unable to use our program this way. I hope my "explaining" this has helped. Louise

A simple approach should be, to open a path, draw the desired Glyph, close and retrieve the Paths curves. Unfortunately, the ExtTextOut function used with ETO_GLYPH_INDEX does not do anything when drawn into a path (even though it should, since exactly the same WORKS under Windows NT 4.0), it works only directly into a HDC (display or bitmap). The same function used WITHOUT ETO_GLYPH_INDEX can render into a path (seems to be a Win95 bug)...
My question is: Is there another way to retrieve the characters outlines ? (It seems, that GetGlyphOutline accepts only Latin font coding...).additionaly please send an example using geycharacterplacement for arabic language in delphi enviorment.
